Established over 25 years ago, Thermomax is a world leading name in the design and manufacture of solar thermal collectors. Now part of Kingspan Renewables, Thermomax products are manufactured in the UK in Bangor, Northern Ireland and Blackwood, South Wales.

Thermomax collectors use highly efficient vacuum tube technology to capture solar energy and convert it to useful heat. The vacuum tubes maximize the amount of the sun’s energy that can be captured and ensure subsequent heat losses are kept to a minimum, especially on cold days.

All Thermomax collectors carry the ESTIF Solar Keymark.

The Thermomax HP200 is a highly efficient heat pipe vacuum tube collector with a patented temperature-control safety device built into the head of every tube in order to prevent system over heating.

These devices are activated when the hot water cylinder can’t take any more of the heat being generated by the collector and by stopping the transfer of heat from the heat pipe to the manifold they prevent the solar fluid in the system from flashing to steam and being forced into the expansion vessel. This minimizes the chance of the system becoming de-pressurised and generally prolongs the life of the system.

HP200 collectors are available in two sizes, 20 tubes and 30 tubes. Collectors can be easily combined to create larger systems with higher outputs, for example 40, 50 and 60 tubes.
