Heat Pumps
Ecofirst has wide ranging experience in the design and installation of renewable heat technologies. We have a particular specialism in wood biomass systems but we can also offer solar thermal systems and heat pumps. Very often the best solution will involve a combination of renewable heat technologies, i.e. a biomass boiler system augmented by a solar thermal system, and to deliver this successfully requires a particular emphasis on design engineering and system integration, which Ecofirst offers.
Heat pumps use a refrigeration cycle to extract low temperature heat from a source and reject high temperature heat to a sink. During the process the source gets cooler and the sink gets hotter. Normally only for new or very recently built properties, this technology is not suitable for poorly insulated or draughty properties as the low heat differential is lost very easily. Ecofirst would normally integrate this technology as part of a more involved project but are willing to view such projects on an ad hoc basis if required.
