Guaranteed payments for Renewable Heat, applications are open now.
The Department of Energy & Climate Change has announced that the Renewable Heat Incentive for non-domestic users is now open for applications.
By incorporating a renewable heat system like wood biomass in your existing business premises you can guarantee an income from the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for 20 years and immediately reduce your heating costs.
What is the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)?
The RHI is an incentive payment paid by OFGEM to the owners of wood biomass heating systems for every unit (kWh) of renewable heat they use.
RHI payments are:
· Guaranteed for 20 years
· Linked to the Retail Price Index to ensure long-term return
Businesses will be paid up to 7.9p per kWh for the renewable heat and hot water they generate. The Government estimated that most participating businesses can expect to generate enough income from RHI to pay for the installation cost of their system at a rate of 12% per annum or 7-9 years.
What is biomass heating?
Biomass heating is the production of heat through the use of organic materials like wood. The heat is produced through a combustion process and is used for heating water or air.
Rising fuel bills are placing an ever increasing burden on finances. The introduction this month of the governments Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) presents a unique opportunity for businesses that install wood biomass heating to generate an income from the heat they use.
· Immediate reduction in heating costs
· Guaranteed payments from the government for 20 years
· Tax advantage
· Reduce carbon
· Ensure you are not exposed to escalating oil and gas prices
ACT NOW! Wood biomass systems currently qualify for enhanced capital allowances (ECA) that enable you to take an immediate tax advantage on the full capital outlay but this is set to change in April 2012 so act now to make sure you don’t miss out.
