Contracts Manager
Based: Yeovil
Duties and responsibilities:
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Contracts Manager is responsible for the completion of multiple projects from order through to delivery; meeting all customer, cost, safety and timescale requirements. (Numbers of projects vary in size but range individually up to £0.5 million). They will need to devise and implement a project delivery plan with project teams to ensure delivery targets are met. The Contracts Manager will be a key point of contact for customers of all projects.
They are responsible for ensuring all site staff are suitably briefed, trained and equipped for work, equipment and stock deliveries are organised and this person will be the key point of contact for all site based problem solving. Although the role is largely office based, there will be the need for travel to sites nationwide. They will regularly review activities to recommend appropriate improvement and liaising with the Support Engineer, will monitor and control site safety.
Role criteria:
- Construction related qualification to HNC/HND level or equivalent vocational / professional experience
- Mechanical services (heating) experience
- Contracting and contract management background / experience
- JCT / Contract administration experience
- Mechanical / electrical construction site experience with a proven track record of delivering under pressure in a similar role
- Experience in managing customers and site teams daily, managing stock and equipment ordering and delivery and able to demonstrate effective troubleshooting
- Relevant CSCS card, desirable
- Biomass heating and renewable energy technology highly desirable
- Ability to negotiate and to learn new technologies fast
- A mechanical building services background also desirable
Project / Mechanical Engineer
Based: Yeovil
Duties and Responsibilities:
To be given day to day responsibility for a wide range of projects, working closely with the Operations team and the Engineering team to facilitate project delivery of biomass and solar PV. Supervisory and on the tools work, as part of a team and sometimes alone, working away from base about ¾ of the time. A self-motivated, confident individual with a sound technical knowledge base and proven management skills.
