Week 6 - Way to go Ecofirst, it Works!

Well its champagne all round today as the solar park in Somerset is switched on and working! You just need to look at the picture above to appreciate the size of this project.

This week Screwfast were on site to complete their final tightening down of the framing structures and to clear site. The plantroom has been rendered and louvers installed to allow air flow through the inverter room. The wiring of the string boxes was completed and all of the 166 solar arrays were plugged in and each were string tested.

Today on site the G59/2 grid protection testing was completed smoothly with Wester Power Distribution and the inverters were tested sucessfully. The site is now generating a huge amount of electricity.

To date the job has taken 6 weeks from starting on site to switching on, its been challenging but our Contracts Team have managed it sucessfully.
